The Giants could do nothing for eight innings and were trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the 9th. It was another good pitching performance gone to waste. Then Luis Matos jacked a two-run homer to tie the game and the Giants had a pulse. In the 10th, the Dodgers failed to score the Manfred Man. It was a gift. Victory was within reach! But of course the Giants couldn't score, either. That was it. That was their chance. LA banged out three runs in the 11th and it was over.
Enjoy the Break!

Giants took GAVIN KILEN, a lefty-hitting 2B/ss from Tennessee as their first pick in the draft (#13 overall).
Here's an article on MLBTR that gives some background on Devers' injury.
reminds me of the game when it looked like the giants had a walk off vs. the fish, and a nice catch stopped it. When the giants could not get ahead, the Marlins ended up winning in extras. The Dodgers, seem to know how to win when the have to. Ramos doing a lot more swinging for the fences. Probably too much for a guy who has only 14 homers. I could probably say the same about Adames. Jung Hu Lee, should mostly be a contact hitter and not that guy who hits pulled ground outs to first and second and long lazy fly outs. The bums won that game with the benefit of two bloops. and probably and infield hit that should have been called an error. Giants defensive alignment on the right side often makes them vulnerable to that type of play. It happened more last year, but it is still happening too much this year. Perhaps not in the long run, but the team was better off with Wilmer as the DH, than it is right now with Devers.
