I can't have my cake and eat it, too. Yes, I researched Matt and linked to facts and stats, but I also spewed editorially, thus engendering response.

This is why I love blogging.M.C. One off hand comment about the obviously changing role of "new media" and you go straight to personal jibes??JC Parsonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00666659454815710731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7941261488380355005.post-31779708365859990382009-03-08T08:38:00.000-07:002009-03-08T08:38:00.000-07:00When the Chronicle interviews Brian Sabean or Bill...When the Chronicle interviews Brian Sabean or Bill Neukom they don't have anything substantive to say--they are like politicians in that respect. So, no, I don't miss that. Bruce Jenkins gets paid to spew opinion, not fact or analysis. So, no, I don't miss him. The "mainstream" outlets have a monoply on the information--I can't follow the team without KNBR or the website--so I'm beholden to them for my very existence as a fan. But I can happily do without the blather that passes for journalism on most sports pages or magazines or TV shows. That's going to change--younger writers know their audience is more sophisticated and I expect we will see a new kind of sport journalism emerge. One that checks facts, for example, and does analysis, and avoids romanticising the game and the business of baseball, and refuses to wallow in nostalgia and mythology. (At least I hope so.)

Thanks for dropping by the site!M.C. All their stuff is just links to the "main stram media" you think is so worthless.

Do you like learing some of the opinions and thoughs of players, coaches and scouts, front office personel, and ownership? Guess what? You can't get any of this from the sources you think are now ready to replace the main stream media.

You are being a complete fool thinking that you no longer need the main steam media.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
