I did...Your footnote brings back lots of memories. I did the tape thing in 1974/1975 (senior year in HS). Then, of course, lots & lots of FORTRAN cards & printouts & late night trudges to the campus computer center as an undergrad. By the time that I got to grad school, we were actually doing our word processing & other tasks on something that resembled a monitor. The 'mini-computer', though, filled the room next door. Still, it was a great leap forward that all was self-contained in the Engineering Bldg., as opposed to being in some giant facility in some other faraway building. Now, I have a PC at work, a laptop at home, recently acquired a netbook for work, & was finally obliged to get a smart phone for my new job. I'm app-less, though.

And, I do miss the simple 3-fold pocket schedules so much ... not to mention the simple ticket pricing structure, when you paid the same price to see everyone! Soon, they'll adjust the ticket price based upon whether your #1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 starter is pitching. Why not? The scalpers already do it. Imagine paying $80 for a weekend premium bleacher ticket & having it be the one day that Buster gets a rest.

Despite all of this, I'm looking forward to the season!Ronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10455675383175604095noreply@blogger.com
