And a relief pitcher named George Kontos, who was apparently a Yankee until just a few hours ago when he was traded for Chris Stewart.

I think it is great that they got something for Stewart.

Burriss and Otero are interesting but they are basically place holders for Freddy and Vogelsong. Pill, however, is a real surprise. I guess it is all about the long ball sometimes...Does this really mean that Huff is an outfielder again??? UGGHH

Kontos will be at AAA, most likely.

Three 1B is pretty bizarre. The word is a Belt/Pill platoon with Huff in LF. Yikes. I'd rather him be on the bench. Maybe they are looking to flip Pill. Or maybe they think FSanchez will be back soon.

The HSanchez thing is interesting. They must like his bat. Or, maybe he is the trade bait since they have two other C in the system (besides Whiteside).

Regardless, you certainly can't dog Sabes and Boch about vets. It is a YOUNG team!!!

I'm glad there's a new Sanchez on the team. Can't have just one. Hector can hit, unlike Scierholtz.

Burriss/Otero placeholders for sure. Or Theriot, the beauty of the cheap signing. I think they really like Hector Sanchez' bat, and he can learn on the job as far as the catching development. Love the young team.

Keeping Hector is truly the most interesting move of the spring. Could this just be a way of shopping him around? After all, young catchers is the one thing we have in excess. I imagine that he could be flipped for a real seccond baseman (if Freddy can't make it) or maybe another shortstop (if Brandon can't hit).

I suppose Pill might also be shopped around. Isn't he just a pinch hitter on this team? Won't all the 1B time be gobbled up by Belt, Huff and Posey? I think platooning Belt is a bad idea...he is far too good to be held back at all. Of course, if Pill hits a homer in his first few games...all bets are off. I bet anybody that hits a dinger will be almost guaranteed to get the next couple starts.

I am getting more excited every minute. We have a good team.
