Bar-ry!

Newsflash: Barry Bonds will be in the Giants camp for Spring Training. This is great! No one on the planet knows more about hitting than Barry Lamar Bonds. I've been hoping the Giants would bring Barry back to the fold as a hitting instructor since the day he left the organization. I suppose the suits feel it has been long enough and the media/PR blowback won't be so bad. I know the stories are coming--how this 'roid cheater will corrupt the Youth of America--and I'm prepared to ignore them. We'll see how it shakes out. I'm expecting a deluge of outrage. From the HoF voting, it seems some folks will never get over PEDs. That's their problem, I reckon.

Welcome back, Barry.

They guys was one of the smartest hitters of all time when it came to his approach at the plate. Mays was also a brilliant tactician at the plate. Not necessarily from his approach alone, but from his ability to technically change his swing to adjust to a specific ballpark or defense.

If mcguire can be in a dugout, I have no idea why Bonds can't show up from time to time. I don't know if he has the patience to go 162, it doesn't seem like his style. But a few weeks in Scottsdale? Walk in the park.

Well, McGwire did weep on TV, that made it all OK, I guess. Starting to look like a "meh" reaction from the baseball press, which is fine. A-Rod is Everyone's Favorite Bad Guy these days.

And there's Ryan Braun, beating a positive test on a chain of custody violation, adamant that he was innocent to the point of convincing the team's owner before confessing, now on an apology tour saying he made "a" mistake and even taking the drug tester to dinner. I guess the PEDs were the mistake and the lying and threats weren't. But yes, the media will be all over Bonds because he didn't kiss enough flaccid white ass when he was a player.

Is there any other type of white ass?

Only dark-skinned asses can be firm?

Music to my ears!

It is probably silly to think hitting coaches make that big of an impact on a team. That being said, sometimes only the tiniest margins can make the difference in sport. If any Giants hitters benefit from spending time with Mays, or Bonds, or anyone else, I'm happy.

Bonds's advice should include choosing your parents well. Make sure they're both elite athletes.
