Split

LA 9 SF 0
It's an Easter miracle that the Giants come home from LA with a split. Two shutout wins, two shutout losses. Normally I'd be OK with that but last night's game was ugly and embarrassing. The Giants couldn't hit and then let it get away from them late and wound up getting whipped. In the end, a loss is a loss and it matters not how bad it was. They all count the same. But it would be nice to see the team put up some fight. Tomorrow they open an 8-game homestand (with an off-day Thursday) that includes three more against the Dodgers. So, I'd say this is a good time for the team to put some wins together.

Ty Blach gets the call Tuesday. GO GIANTS!

That about sums up the Giants offense so far. Could someone let them know that we are now playing for real?

Go Giants!

I fully expected us to be swept by the Dodgers. To emerge with a split is a major victory, especially if you consider that we scored just two runs. Wow! Also, we managed to get quite a few hits, just not necessarily when we needed them. So it wasn't a disaster by any stretch. But we have to show an offense or this season will not be fun....

After winning the first two games, I was really hoping that we would get out of the series with at least 3 wins. We have 2 months without Bumgarner, and unknown times without Melancon and Samardijza so nailing the wins when we can get them would be fine. Giants hit 3 balls to the top of the fence, all would have been out in Arizona during Spring training. Posey's was a double, and Belt's and Panik's were long outs. Bellinger's dinger went just above Pence's glove. Did not look as if Pence had well timed leap for that shot. It looked catchable. Not easily done, but catchable. The giants gave up that first run in quite the bizarre fashion, and later runs came in clusters and it did not seem as if were real. Giants need to at least garner a split with Seattle, and minimally resplit with the bums again.

Exactly.
The new guys were pressing on the road against one of the best staffs in MLB.

Nice to see the folks here not going crazy - like elsewhere in the blogosphere - where the sky is falling.
