I guess I must have been the one who took this delightful picture. That was quite a day. Luckily there was just enough of a break in the large snowstorm for us to get to Mt. Shasta town and back. Tomorrow it's in Sacramento, at City Hall on I St. between 2:30 and 5. I can't go then.
If this move is so obvious (& you & I agree that it is the right move), then why haven't the Giants wrapped it up yet?
This is why Rumour Mill in The Guardian is so much more fun to read than MLB Trade Rumors:
"With Danny Graham set to leave for QPR, or Sunderland, or Norwich, Reading or Aston Villa, striker-seeking Swansea are ready to pay £8.2m for Celta Vigo's Shakespeare-referencing striker Iago Aspas, but may have to wait until the summer before the 25-year-old hotshot is prepared to move. Asked whether he expected the Swans to grow frustrated by his desire to see out the season in Spain, Iago countered: 'How poor are they that have not patience! What wound did ever heal but by degrees?'"
So, this is the reason for the silence on the utility infielder:
"Look for the Giants to sign second baseman Kensuke Tanaka of the Nippon Ham Fighters to a minor league deal with an invitation to MLB Spring Training, says John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle (via Twitter). Tanaka, 31, posted a .300/.350/.363 slash line this past season for Nippon."

Where do we stand on the following potential utility infielders:
- Ryan Theriot?
- Freddy Sanchez?
- Adam Kennedy?
I suppose that I am still most comfortable sticking with Theriot.
Freddy Sanchez has not played ball since June of 2011. Meanwhile, Ryan Theriot has two WS rings. He's also four years younger than Adam Kennedy.

Hopefully, that OPS number is a misprint.
