Those 2 runs put the Padres ahead at the time. The Giants picked up 1 on and rbi single by Brandon Belt in the 4th to score Hunter Pence. I seem to remember a few games in which Stults stymied the Giants. The Giants were able to break through in the 7th, however. Tony Abreu singled, and Hector Sanchez, batting for Madison, singled off of Luke Gregerson, sending Abreu to third base. Brandon Crawford, who is not on the disabled list with a sprained finger, pinch ran for Sanchez. Then, Gregor Blanco, batting for Andres Torres, tripled for 2 loud runs. That was all, but it was enough. The very young looking Jake Dunning took care of the eighth and Sergio Romo took care of the ninth.
Oh, there was a dust-up in the 2nd inning. No one claims knowledge as to why.

I was impressed that the guys got out all their testosterone and then played a crisp, hard-fought game. I guess you have to get pissed off now and then just to break the monotony.
Cain and Bumgarner had nearly identical starts, right down to the two solo homers allowed. Great efforts by both guys and Giants won both games. Happy to see the rook have a solid 8th inning and always like watching Blanco run.
This series easily could have been a sweep. Although I think Bochy was out managed in the 13 inning game, in retrospect Black made a mistake by putting in a tired Gregerson. The Padres next reliever struck out all 5 guys he face on just 21 pitches. Glad that he did not bring him in first. Lets not let Giancarlo Stanton beat us in the next series. Nolasco always seems to pitch like a stud in SF. Time for the giants to start hitting a bunch of long balls.
Blanco seems to be very much a clutch performer. I like him a lot.
Good point, nomis. Coulda, shoulda won three.
