I wanted to freshen up the look of RMC before the New Year. I kept it clean and simple as you can see. Let me know what you think. The picture is from the Houston High (Germantown, TN) Mustangs website. (I hope they don't mind!) The cool fonts are from Blambot. I used Roxio PhotoSuite 10 and just about maxed out my computer skills.

UPDATE Wed 1634: I tweaked the width of the blog template. It should now show all of Matt. I made the original banner graphic to be--I thought--the same width as the blog template. Unfortunately it cut off part of Matt when I viewed the blog in Chrome or Firefox (but not in the new 64-bit IE). I went into the blog template HTML code and found a line that looked like it was the width setting and changed it from 1000px to 1100px. It looks better, don't you think?

Interesting look. My only criticism is the font. I'd go more with a San Serif type (which I think would pair nicely with this new and simpler layout). I was in a Graphic Design class for a few years and she was always tough on fonts.
Since you asked, and not to diminish your efforts, I prefer the old look. I assume Matt is the person on the right not covered by the title. I can't tell that, without guessing, however, and it leaves open the questions, who are the other guys and what are they doing here? Now if you could make this a video clip where Matt ages until he morphs into the present day Matt in a Giants uniform............
I was getting tired of the old look. I needed a change.
On the sidebar (bottom) is a thumbnail and link to the source photo. I really like the smiling kid on the left. He looks happy. Matt looks the exactly the same.
I like that the post author's name is more prominent. We have 5-man ro' here at RMC and I like to feature that.
Love the look. Can't wait to see what RMC has in store for 2011 and beyond!
I feel that though the resemblance may not be obvious it sure beats the pin or the bobblehead shots.
