Just in case you never go to FanGraphs

It is nice to see this every time you go there. It is a nice constant reminder that the Giants are World Series Champions!

Now it can be told...
I've been dying to share this. This personal story helps explain how the Giants won the World Series.
On July 10, 2009, I had dinner with an old friend I've known since high school. She happens to be a Wiccan. She also used to be a long-time employee of the Giants. When the Magowan group took over the team in '93 she found cause for many grievances and left her job with much acrimony. She subsequently placed a curse on the team; that the Giants would never win the World Series in her lifetime.
When you think about how the close-calls in '89 and '02 ended, it feels like a curse, doesn't it?
Anyway, after a nice dinner at a French restaurant, we got in my car, turned on KNBR, and learned that Jonathan Sanchez had pitched six innings without giving up any hits. We hastened to her hotel room and turned on the TV to watch the rest of the game. Then, of course, Sanchez completed the no-hitter.
My friend and I celebrated by having carnal knowledge of each other for the first time.
I subsequently asked her if maybe she could lift that nasty old curse, as a personal favor to me. She said she'd think about it. Now I know what her answer was.

The fact that Game 4 and Game 5 of the World Series spanned the Samhain Sabbat gives some credence to your tale, Bob.

I'm Pragmatist. "Whatever works" is my credo.

We all have to do our part for the cause.
I now realize that technically speaking, 1989 precedes 1993, but one must suspend linear thinking when trying to fully grok this sort of arcana.
