Highlights for Jeffersonians include Mt. Shasta on January 12th, 2013, and Medford (OR) on the 26th of March. Sounds like some fabulous post-apocalypse fun. Speaking of the apocalypse, Mt. Ashland got 29 inches of snow in the last 24 hours--so much they have delayed the opening this morning. My quest for the first freshies of the season is off to a bit of a slow start, but I expect to be knee-deep in the pow-pow by noon, at least. Oh, did I mention I was on holiday?
Merry Christmas, everyone!

Talk about under-the-radar ... the Giants ... yes, your 2012 World Series Champion SF Giants ... have signed Cole Gillespie. Why is that so significant? Well:
- He is from West Linn, OR, where I teach Bikram Yoga.
- He played for the Oregon State University College World Series Championship winning team in 2006.
- He is a guy with some decent AAA power numbers. So, perhaps, the new Brett Pill, but a right-handed OF.
- Most importantly, he gives the Giants the opportunity to field a rare Gillaspie-Gillespie combo ... perhaps the first in MLB history.
