Just had to get personal for a bit here, gang, and say congrats to our boy. RMC will be well-represented at the wedding this summer in Oaxaca--we hope! Now, if we could just get I-Ron to start posting . . .

Come to think of it, this creates an intriguing possibility. What is it that he Giants could use? How about a slick fielding, slugging third baseman in the Vinny Castilla style? And where better to find such a player than from Vinny's old team, the Oaxaca Guerreros? Perhaps a little scouting mission is in order? No schedule posted yet, but: http://www.guerrerosdeoaxaca.com/
The Guerreros Stadium is very close (probably less than a mile) to the B&B we are recommending as home base for the Wedding - your old favorite, Casa de las Bugambilias ('http://www.lasbugambilias.com/oaxaca-bed-breakfast.htm')! Good thinking, Zo. I have never actually been in Oaxaca during their season (May through September, I think), but that will change this year & in future seasons! And, thanks Mark, for Congrats!
God Bless the Internet - the Guerreros' website doesn't have the 2008 Schedule posted yet, but the Minor League Baseball website ('web.minorleaguebaseball.com') does! The Guerreros host the Piratas de Campeche on July 1 through 3, then the Olmecas of Tabasco on July 4 through 6 before heading out on a road trip. Game times TBD.
The Guerreros host the Piratas de Campeche on Sat 30 June and Sun 1 July. I think I'm getting that old bit from Knuschler-lore, the "must hit" sign. I say we go!
Hey, Ron!! Let me add my voice to the chorus of congratulations! You are a lucky guy. Robyn and I are still figuring out if we can make it this summer...either way our love will be there!
Are you really recommending the "house of bugs and bills?" Sounds itchy and expensive.
How about a celebration of the US Independence day viewing the Oaxaca Guerreros vs Tabasco Olemecas? I'm betting that rivalry pre-dates the Giants-doggers by about a millienum. Cas de las Bugambilias (or house of bouganvillias) is a very nice B&B connected to an excellent restaurant.
Having all of you down there for the Wedding would be absolutely AWESOME!!! And, I like the idea of that Guerreros-Olmecas July 4match-up. Susana & the Kids are up for it, too - we talked about it last night! I'm so excited, I may even post about baseball in a few minutes!

DOH!
I was reading the 07 schedule. 2008 looks even better. Let's go!

I bet the Piratas kick some Guerrero arse.
