That's not the formula

Great start. Gift runs. Homer or two. Lights-out bullpen. That's the formula. In a rational universe, even Brian Wilson has a meltdown now and then. In my universe, it is an unthinkable affront to the baseball gods. Thou shalt not tinker with the formula! I should be raging. I should be breaking things. But there are forty baseball games remaining and I just can't get worked up enough. Get 'em tomorrow, eh?

If we don't get in the playoffs by one game, with you get worked up about tonights game at that point?Kind of a belated reaction.

Giants have blown a lot of games they "should have won." Can't look at a season that way--you have to go forward. They have to start playing better ball. Starting today, perhaps?

Here's my theory: the stupid Showtime series. Trashy BS, unbecoming of a Championship Team. I knew it was a bad idea, as soon as I heard about it.

And another thing:

What's the dang deal on not having a complete active roster? Is it some sort of bizarre money-saving thing? Now, we have a RF who has been questionable for almost 10 games, a 3B who probably shouldn't play for a couple of days, & a utility man who, when they show his last 10 games on the ESPN stats, has a game in 2011, a handful in 2010, & some in 2009. Soon, our primary left-handed PH will be Bumgarner, & our primary right-handed PH will be Vogelsong. I totally don't get the Beltran or DeRosa things. They probably don't want to call up Burriss, because he must be out of options by now. Perhaps, they don't want to use up another of Crawford's options, so close to Sept. 1. What about Brett Pill, who has been crushing the ball all year? There's got to be someone.

I was perusing the Fresno stats - aside from finding a few other people that we could call up (Edgar Gonzalez, Conor Gillaspie, Brad Eldred), I discovered that we have re-acquired Scott Munter - how did this pass me by??? We also have a SS who's first name is Ydwin - that's pretty cool.

Cabrera gets the ball out of his glove and gets the first hitter in the ninth out, we win. No error charged. He did get a SF for an RBI, though. I sure as hell hope Beltran can come back and hit for us. I would hate to think we gave up Wheeler for 2 wks of not very impressive baseball.
