SF 11 COL 8
The Giants pounded out 18 hits today and continued this crazy, wonderful hot streak by completing the sweep in Coors Field. Savor that! Four wins in four games in Denver. Wow! This team is playing exceptional baseball. Starter Shaun Anderson got rocked a bit but made it to the 5th where Derek Holland took over. He handed it to Reyes Moronta who passed it to Andrew Suarez who was just recalled from AAA. Suarez pitched a great 8th but could not finish the 9th and Mark Melancon got the final out.
All eight starters in the lineup had at least one hit today (Donovan Solano had four and Brandon Belt three). Mike Yastrzemski was the only one not to score a run, but he had two hits and one RBI. The Giants scored three in the 1st, two in the 5th, one in the 6th, two in the 7th and three in the 8th. They took an early lead, lost it, got it back, piled on more runs, then held off a late charge by the Rockies. In short, it was a great game.
Giants have won 12 of their last 14 and come home to face the Mets for four starting tomorrow night at 6:45 Pacific. It should be a great matchup: Madison Bumgarner and Noah Syndergaard.
GO GIANTS!

The Giants played 54 games between Sept. 4, 2018 and May 1, 2019 without scoring eight runs or more.
They've done it nine times in their last 14 games.
That's a tweet from Grant Brisbee.
I find the Rockies scoring in the late innings a little concerning. But then, nothing wrong with the outcome.
I think they asked just a bit too much out of Suarez in that situation. Stuff happens in Coors, man. Even Smith's blown save was predictable. You knew at some point the streak would end--why not in Colorado? Lots of pitching streaks die in that park.
The Giants won a 2-1 game in that place. How often does that happen?
They are 27-23 on the road. 20-26 at home. This will be a big test. Mets took a crap in June but are playing better lately, though overall poorly. And they have those ridiculous pitchers. It's DeGrom on Friday.
Cubs are a very solid, talented, first-place team. Even at that you could almost say they are underperforming. They will be a tough club to beat--looking forward to the matchup.
Sunday is Game 100.
Mac Williamson and Jarrett Parker were both DFA'd from their teams, the Mariners and the Angels. Always hoped those guys would catch on with the Giants, of course, but it looks like they will top out as AAAA-types. Makes you appreciate how hard it is to be even an "average" player in the big leagues.
would like to send Williamson to a good eye doctor. too big of a drop off between triple A and the majors. Giants NEED to quickly move their home record above 500. Will be nice to win the home series opener.
