Four straight

STL 7  SF 1

The Giants are 0-4 in the month of May. They lost four straight games only once last season. The lineup managed 10 hits and four walks but could only create the one run. Bullpen stalwarts Zack Littel, José Álvarez, Jake McGee, and Tyler Rogers gave up all the Cardinals runs.

Alex Cobb tonight, 7:15 Pacific.

Go Giants!

Tyler Beede DFAd.

It's the end of his tenure in orange-and-black. 1st round pick (#14) in 2014 from Vanderbilt. Carlos Rodon was the #3 pick of that same draft. Trea Turner was the #13 pick.

Even 1st-rounders aren't guaranteed MLB success. It's too bad things didn't work out for Beede. By all accounts he was a likeable fellow and worked hard, so good luck to him going forward.

I do not see Rodon scheduled to pitch in the next 5 days. Is he on the I.L. or covid list? What is going on there. The giants continued to get their leadoff man on base against the dodgers and did nothing with it. They also had more than their share of baserunners vs. St. Louis and did nothing with it. The cards, in situations with runners in scoring position, basically tried to hit the ball against the defense and it worked. The long ball is just not always there. Luis Gonzolez so far has more than adequately replaced Duggar.
