The Giants racked up some hits (11) but still had trouble scoring runs. It took seven pitchers but they got it done and kept the Marlins off the board. The runs came in the 1st when Heliot Ramos tripled to RF and Wilmer singled him in, and in the 4th when Matt Chapman homered.
Kyle Harrison started and gave up one hit over his five frames. He was followed by Tristan Beck (2/3), Ryan Walker (1/3), Erik Miller (2/3), Tyler Rogers (1/3), Spencer Bivens (2/3), and Camilo Doval (1-1/3) with an impressive four-out save.
Considering how well this pitching staff has suppressed run-scoring, it feels like they should have more shutouts. Four is right at league-average. The Padres lead MLB with nine, the Guardians are second with seven.
Tomorrow's game is at 1:10 Pacific. Robbie Ray takes his 7-0 magic to the mound.
Go Giants!

Let us all pray to the baseball gods that we are not again victims of the reciprocal shutout rule.
These guys remind me of the 2009 Giants: great pitching, no hitting!
Anyway with Encarnacion coming back and Eldridge in the wings I'm guessing Wade's tenure with the club is coming to an end. They are even talking about moving Luciano to 1B down at AAA. Wade, by the way, is a free agent at the end of this season.
A big chunk of FA money will come "off the books" for 2026 (Verlander, Yaz Wade, Rogers, Murphy, Flores). With young guys like Ramos and Fitzgerald and Miller, Walker, Rodriguez, Birdsong, Harrison, etc. holding down their spots "on the cheap" the Giants will be once again able to spend money in the off-season. Maybe they should try to get Kyle Tucker.
Anyway, let's hope Jerar can hit. The Giants need a bat! I feel for Wade, he's a likeable player and did a lot of good stuff for the team over the last few season. He'll be 32 in January.
It is interesting that by contact, a d exit velocity, Wade has been a victim of a kind of reverse BAPiP. That just once again show us that exit velocity and some other modern measures are quite flawed. One has to drive the ball to places the fielders cannot turn the batted ball into an out. Every time I hear the announcers say the batters job is to hit it hard and what happens after that is just a matter of luck. I am still a strong advocate of hitting the ball where they ain't.
