It's always nice to be able to throw zeros with seven different guys. Makes a manager look like a genius. I was getting excited about zeros then, too, as the Giants had just reeled of 25 straight scoreless innings! Nate Schierholtz was the hero with a two-run triple in the 11th to give the Giants the edge. Brian Wilson struck out Miguel Montero swinging to end it.

One of MadBum's finest. This guys control is superb, as the one walk to 7 strikeout ratio in this particular game nicely demonstrates.

The excellence of MadBum sort of gets lost in all the "We finally won!" hysteria. He was dealing like a ten-year-veteran-perennial-all-star.
That streak last September was truly special although its appeal is somewhat esoteric. "Lots of low scores" is not the most riveting of subjects.
