I went to the last Beatles concert. It was not nearly a sellout. They didn't know how to do stadium concerts yet and there were these little speakers on the stage which was on second base. The screams almost blocked out the music entirely but if you listened closely you could tell which songs were being sung. "Yellow Submarine" was their hit at the time.

I spent a lot of time in Candlestick and I have lots of fond memories but that's because of the people I was with. The place was a dump, and a lousy ballpark. The best thing that ever happened to the Giants was to move to PhoneCo. Three pennants and two titles in 13 years, man! But success has its price, too. For one thing the new park is absurdly expensive. The TV broadcasts are insufferable. The "look at how cool we are" vibe about the games is intolerable. It was fun back in the day when we had most of the LF bleachers to ourselves and other hardcores, but god those teams sucked. I guess you have to take the good with the bad. The long and the short of it is that I don't miss the 'Stick at all even though I have fond memories of fun times there.
