Yeah, They Lost Again

It's been almost a week since anybody put out a new post, but the story is the same. An ugly losing streak. The silver lining is some interesting FNGs, I suppose.
Shit, I'm not ready to start caring about the 49ers.

Call me "disgruntled" with M. Bumgarner. His act is wearing thin as Mr. Badass. He just plunked Braun to load the bases, leading to brouhaha and kerfuffle, then served up a grand slam to give away a lead. Ugh. Acch.

The whole thing is off the rails. We need a new Front Office, a new Manager, a new Plan, & a whole bunch of new (young) Players. Posey & Crawford should be the only untouchables (even though Posey may be done ... maybe, he's the new Manager soon).

And now Ryder Jones is hurt, done for the year. Even the youngsters can't catch a break.

Bumgarner blew it today. If a guy gets hits off you then figure out how to get him out. Plunking someone is bullshit. I hope it was not intentional but the circumstances seem to suggest it was. Bum was doing great and then lost it. I suppose everyone is on edge after losing so much.

No easy fix for the Giants. Their most trade-able player is MadBum and if they go that way that's saying 'goodbye' to a World Series hero. Not many of them left! Fans might be OK with it because Bum has been below his career norms these last two seasons, and fans are fickle. But if they trade for "prospects" fans will have to be patient and hope they develop into major-leaguers. Posey will still be valuable for his defense even if he hits like this year from now on. Plus he's Buster Posey, Face of the Franchise. You don't move a guy like that even if you have back-to-back losing seasons.

But it's certainly going to be a looong three weeks watching this team fall apart. Maybe coming home they can play some winning ball. I really thought they had a shot at .500 before this month started.

Is this team jinxed or what? Williamson had figured it out and was smashing the cover off the ball, comes up, slams his head, has a concussion, and forgets how to hit. Duggar starts to figure things out, helps the team win a few games, and boom dislocated shoulder, Jones, after being miserable at the plate last year, comes up this year, and seems to have an idea, plays well and dislocates his knee out of thin air. Samardijah hurt for the first time in his career, and down almost all year. Cueto gets off to a great start, and goes down. Belt and Posey total disappointments, probably secondary to injuries. Crawford slides back into his usual output, after hitting almost 400 for 2 months. Shaw so far is not hurt, despite striking out at a record rate. The only positive I see there, is that is what Rizzo did when he first came up. To me Longoria is exactly what I expected only worse in the field. An under 300 OBP guy with some occasional power. Panik who started off great, got injured and has not been the same player ever since. Lets go with next year with Pablo at third, Avelino at Short, Hanson at second, Posey at first, Duggar and 2 new solid outfielders, and Gorky and Blanco could be outfielders 4 and 5, because they can still field. If one thinks that trading away McCutchen did not depress this already depressed team they are wrong, it basically caused them to give up. Bumgarner gets emotional and he loses his concentration. This giant team has not hit a grand slam all season. If giants went 6-2 instead of losing their last 8, they would only be 5 games out. Amazing how Bochy cannot get this team up to play.

The announcers (I was in the car) said Braun barely got hit - grazed. But it seems like every time Bum gets into one of these mano-a-mano kerfluffles, he comes out on the losong end.

It was unclear, even watching on TV, if he actually was hit.
