If it ain't one thing, it's another . . .

The Giants and Mariners postponed their games in Seattle due to the poor air quality there. It's a little better in San Francisco so the games will be played Wednesday and Thursday at Oracle Park.

6:45 p.m. tomorrow--Drew Smyly gets the start.

Go Giants!

Air quality is more than a bit better. The AQI reading in SF this morning is 22, down from around 150 - 180 recently. That monitor is on the east side, not too far from the park.
The inversion layer broke down Monday, and it was pretty clear Tuesday. My personal monitor, which is the amount of detail I can see on distant buildings, has improved dramatically.

Seattle this morning posts an AQI reading of just over 200.

Yreka was in the 300s! I came down to Mom's (Benicia) on Monday and it was in the 150s but yesterday it really improved and today it is spectacular. Such a relief. It is still bad back home but much better than before.

I'm taking Mom out to dinner tonight at a place called Sailor Jack's where they have converted the parking lot into dining space (plexiglass dividers, etc.). It sits right on the end of 1st Street by the pier with a great view of Port Costa, the Strait, the Carquinez Bridge, etc.. I'm so glad we have good air--we will have a much better evening. She is 89 today.

Happy Birthday to Peggy = Looking forward to listening to the game in an hour or so. The air is still bad here in Yreka - the wind let me see the surrounding mountains for about an hour but they are back to invisible.
