Giants strike out

LA 4  SF 3

The Giants fell behind 2-0 in the 3rd on a homer by Justin Turner. Evan Longoria cut that in half in the 4th with a solo shot, but the Dodgers countered in the 5th with a solo shot from rookie DJ Peters. In the 6th, Mike Yastrzemski dragged a bunt for a base hit and Donovan Solano tied the game with a homer. Those were only the second and third hits for the team and they would not get another. In the bottom of the 6th Max Muncy launched an 0-2 pitch from Alex Wood into the seats and that was the game. Wood struck out eight without issuing a walk, but of his six hits allowed three were home runs. Zack Littell and Jarlin Garcia took the last two innings. The Dodgers used seven pitchers in a bullpen game and once again they stifled the Giants attack. The lineup struck out 13 times--five in the first 2-2/3 IP against David Price, and four in the last two innings against Blake Treinen and Kenley Jansen. That's four straight losses against LA and the team continues to look over-matched. Let's hope they figure it out soon.

Anthony DeSclafani and Walker Buehler tomorrow night at 7:10 Pacific.

Go Giants!
