New night, same story

Matt Cain gave up four runs in the 4th inning to put the game out of reach.

Jonathan Sanchez faces Cole Hamels tomorrow.

Two things, he did not pick up his man after the error, and it looked like he was royally squeezed vs Rollins and he may have legitimately struck him out prior to the dinger. But both the homerun and the three base hit by Rollins were on high inside pitches. Giants have just played 14 games almost one eleventh of the season, without a starter getting a victory. These recent moves have thus far had a negative effect. The team seems to lack energy.

These losses, they all look the same. It's not just depressing, it's boring. I'm tired of knowing what to expect. Early slight lead, then the other team ties it, we have a chance, we come up short, other team takes lead, team makes errors, pitchers make bad pitches, blowout. The least they could do is figure out new ways to lose. I guess all I can say is Go Giants (they'll have to earn the ! back).

Right on Anony. I couldn't even watch today, and glad I didn't, except for a check and seeing Burrel homer again. Face it, we are up against some better teams, and all of our cylinders are not firing. I will be surprised to see this team turn it around. They need something big to happen to give them a lift. Could it be a Sanchez gem tomorrow? Let's hope!

Hamels is going to destroy us tomorrow! But we will still win the division. I'm counting on that last Orange Friday on October 1st to mean something. Don't disappoint me, Gigantes!

Wow, you are way more optimistic than I am. I seem to have lost faith already. Other teams are pouring it on while we are flailing. Our arms don't show signs of recovering, perhaps a failure of confidence? The bats have got to start carrying this team for a while. What are the chances of that happening? We are not living up to potential right now. Will this team gut check and get rolling again? Let's hope.

See what Mr. Malo has to say on the lack of starter victories:

Yeah, yeah, "wins" for starters don't mean all that much, but this was supposed to be the #1 strength of this team, so yeah, it means plenty.
We've been playing teams that are clearly better than us. Plus,Huff has cooled of dramatically and he had been carrying the team most of the season. When both he and Posey were hot we looked like world-beaters, but we all really knew we weren't.

We don't need wins from starters. We need innings from starters! And we need NO losses from the bullpen. We'll get it together. What's more likely; Timmy giving up 5er in 4 innings every game or Latos keeping his ERA at historic rookie levels? I'm looking for a pendulum swing.

Why did Bonehead yank Sanchez??????
Did I miss something?
Please explain.
Brain hurts.

BTW If you are a bit concerned by MOC's remarkable brevity (23 words!), I can assure that he is fine. I checked on him at work this morning.

Also...I agree with my Brother entirely. This team is all about the starters.
