The Giants jumped on the Rockies straight away, something they like to do, and held on for a win. Wilmer Flores hit the big blow, a three-run homer with two outs in the 1st. With a 5-2 lead in the 9th Kap called on Jake McGee who struggled, giving up a two-run homer to Connor Joe and putting the go-ahead run on base. Zack Littell was summoned to clean up the mess and he struck out hot-hitting C.J. Cron with high heat to end it. It was a more dramatic ending than necessary but that's the way it's going to be from here on out. The Dodgers won to keep the deficit at five games. Anthony DeSclafani started and went five and threw 82 pitches to 22 batters. Let's hope he is fit and ready for the stretch run.
The Giants are listing TBD as the starter tomorrow. And I hope all of you saw the story about Brandon Crawford getting a two-year extension. The game is at an odd time tomorrow, 6:05 p.m.

More torture. And of course ex-giant C.J. with the big 9th inning dinger. He is starting to hit. I was surprised that Colorado wanted that foul homer to be reviewed. It looked about 10 feet foul on my high def. TV. plus you could see the ball pass on the right side of the foul pole. Seen much closer shots not being asked for review. Posey called strike 3 with runners on second and third and two outs could have been a game changer. In some games that pitch is a strike, but Posey catching all night saw that spot called a ball consistently. He must feel as if he gets no respect. This looks like McGee's second slump this year. Outside of his first slump before this week, he was almost unhittable. When he gets into one of these slumps he struggles for a while. The bums finally won an extra-inning game, but the Pads lost. I guess Myers who hit a home run off of Bumgarner to tie the game, forgot that Bumgarner was no longer pitching for the giants. I suppose that wins by torture is character building.
It's going to be torture from here on out. Good thing the Giants have a lot of character!!
Sammy Long is listed as today's starter. Looks like they sent Doval down.
Aaron Sanchez released. He could still re-sign with the Giants, we'll see.
The Sanchez move surprises me. Even though they picked up an injured outfielder to put on the 60 day IL. It seems Sanchez had significant value to this team.
