Chad Pinder led off the game with a home run and that was all she wrote. Both teams got excellent pitching after that point and the Giants were shut out for the first time this season. Jakob Junis was superb once again with five scoreless frames and striking out six. The Giants are off today. The Nationals come to San Francisco for a three-game set. Alex Wood gets the ball Friday at 7:15 Pacific.

Giants stockpiled another arm, this time LHP Darien Nunez. He's recovering from TJS so it's a long-term project. Nunez was released from the Dodgers when they added Reyes Moronta. He's 29 and from Cuba. Dodgers drafted him in 2018. Nunez goes to AAA but will likely get a spot later on the 40-man via the 60-day IL. It's some roster legerdemain, but they did a similar thing with Luis Gonzalez last year in order to keep him around.
Giants keep signing guys. Jaylin Davis got the start for Boston today and so far he is 2 for 3. The Braves sent down Alex Dickerson to Gwinnett. I am surprised with all the left handed injuries that the giants did not pick him up.
