Three in a row

SF 6  MIL 4

The streaky Giants showed some spunk and got great relief work to edge the Brewers. John Brebbia, Tyler Rogers, and Camilo Doval gave up one hit and one walk and struck out six over the final four frames. Sean Manaea sandwiched three scoreless innings between the two-run 1st and the two-run 5th (one run scored on Joey Bart's errant throw) and got his first "W" of the season. J.D. Davis hit a two-run homer and Joc Pederson had a two-run single. Wilmer Flores pinch-hit in the 9th and homered.

Alex Cobb goes this afternoon at 4:15 PT.

Go Giants!

giants sloppy play cost them 2 runs. The run down play should have gotten the guy at the plate. Giants did not handle that play well. And Joey Bart's throw into left field, cost the giants runs. They did pick up a run on the Brewer's sloppiness. Bad calls at just the worst time was also a factor, although the giants still took care of business. With runners on second and third, and one out, Wade called out on a definite ball. That could have hurt much worse if the team did not pick him up.

Yes that call to Wade was ridiculous. The guy has 25 walks! He knows the zone.

The rookie (Wisely) didn't handle the rundown as you pointed out. That was painful! Bart's throw was a physical error, but I can't fault him trying to get the out in that spot, base runners are extra aggressive this season due to the new rules.
