Lucky 13th

Giants cling to life with an extra-inning win in Los Angeles. Andrew Susac got the big hit and four Giants relievers kept the Dodgers hitless over the final six frames. Pittsburgh and San Francisco are tied for the top Wild Card spot and lead Milwaukee by five. Both teams will clinch a post-season spot with two wins (or one win and a Brewers loss). Giants have to complete the sweep in order to have a shot at the West title. LA's magic number is three--they've clinched at least a Wild Card spot. The Washington Nationals have clinched the East. The St. Louis Cardinals are up by 2-1/2 in the Central and have clinched at least a Wild Card spot. Their magic number is five.

Madison Bumgarner tonight.

GO GIANTS!

The good: Starting pitching and the bullpen. Dogger errors (we wouldn't have made it to extra innings without them). Panik, Blanco, Susac, Belt, Crawford. Posey, even though he did not get many hits, a force. The bad: Pence and Sandoval. Pence has 3 hits in his last 35 at bats. Pablo has 9 hits in his last 61 at bats (he had two 2-hit games in Arizona). Tough to score runs with sure outs in your 4 and 5 holes.

Sure nice to see Peavy coming through. What a great pickup.

Very happy to see Belt back in the lineup. Giants need him! Let's hope Morse can get healthy, too. Blanco is playing too well to take out but a power bat off the bench could be huge.

Awesome effort by the 'pen. Hope Strickland can keep it up. Did you see Cordier popping 100 the other night in SD?
