Terrific Tim

That's a Game Score of 80 for all you nerds who keep track of that stuff. The phenom from Oakland got a taste of NL ball when The Timster roped an RBI single off him in the 5th. You could practically hear Tim riposting from first base, "that's how we roll in our yard, dawg." Ain't it sweet? Clever at-bat by the Panda, bunting to get it started, and red-hot Gomer drove home the final nail. But it was The Franchise tonight, taking a page from the Book of Cain--First Pitch Curveball--and befuddling the Oak-men with an insouciant efficiency. I think this Lincecum kid is pretty damn good. A few more times around the league and this young fellow is going to get noticed, you mark my words.

Terrific indeed. I've noticed something about him recently. He never acts like he has to win a game in the first inning. He just does his thing, mixes up his pitches, stays loose. In other words, in many games it's not obvious early that Tim is going to be at his best. This was contrasted yesterday by the early awesomeness of the rookie Mazzaro. He unraveled once he had to finally work out of the stretch, and we had gotten a look at his stuff.

BTW, unless my eyes deceive me, the Giants are now #1 in the wild-card race.

Hey, it's JCP out here in the redwoods. I found a coffee shop with wifi across from the music camp I am attending in Cazadero. Since I am NO musician, I skipped classes to check on Tim. WOOHOO, what a stud! Figures I miss reporting one of his best starts, remember an average Game Score is like 55. I think a shutout deserves more but that metric LOVES strikeouts above all. Getting an RBI single is probably what Tim is bragging about this morning. My favorite number on the box score (besides the sixth WIN) was the economical 110 pitches. Man, I wish I had seen that.
Speaking of which, I'll be at the ballpark in two days! I get to see Beezy but that's cool. By that point we will be 6 games over .500 which is a level we have not seen since '04 or some such nonsense. I expect to take a few pictures, so look for those in the next few days

I didn't jinx nothing. Jon saying "By that point we will be 6 games over .500 which is a level we have not seen since '04 or some such nonsense" is jinx-talk so if we start losing it's his fault not mine.
Hi Bro! See you soon. Wish I could go to that game with you.
