13 innings: 4 hours and 44 minutes

That was quite an ordeal in Chavez Latrine today! Super Tim was not quite so super, but he got 8 Ks in 6 innings and kept the damage down. Emmanuel Burriss, in the immortal words of The I-Ron Man, is "serving notice." Maybe Ol' Boch knew something we didn't when he picked him over Frandsen. Our clutch, savvy vets stepped up to deliver some veteran savvy clutchness, and we got another improbable win. I'm having a hard time with improbability, you know? I'd much rather have 3-run HRs. But you can't argue with the facts, and the facts are we took 2 of 3 from the hottest team in the league, in their sacred yard no less, with our dinky-ball lineup that lives and dies on the productive out.

In other news, Tim Alderson looks good in his AA debut.

Did all of you call your mothers today?

Did Jon misplace his thesaurus so he couldn't find a word for "not-quite-so-super?"
You gotta love the results. When was the last time the Giants lost a series? And we haven't been shut out all that often, despite our dinky offense.
The best trend recently is that Burriss now looks like a bona fide major leaguer. Ishikawa not so much.

This was an M.C. post.

I HAD to post something after the big win. JCP told me he would be posting re Tim on Monday. My post was right after the game on Sunday.

I'm really happy MannyB is showing us his stuff. His glove is first-rate, he needs to prove he can hit. Starting to look good, eh?

Ishikawa--yikes. What to do? How long will they let him flounder? He is out of options--I think that's why we are stuck with him.
